"You Say Tomato I Say Tornado" - Things You Should Know

You Say Tomato I Say Tornado - This is the album title track. In the simplest terms this tune is about differences of perception. Swirly.

Nuovo Antediluvian - You will find something new and something ancient. Let’s pretend we live in the 50’s. Let’s pretend we are cowboys. Let’s pretend we are vampires. Let’s pretend we’re still in college. Brings a tear to my eye… I’ll pretend to be nostalgic.

Paragone Sfumato - A vague argument. Two compositions in tandem; one in harmony and one is dissonance. One bubbles to the surface every now and then.

Conviviality - Wind chimes are friendly. Have a Mint Julip and a curious soundscape of goodwill.

Somnambulism Cadre - I meet so many sleepwalkers these daze. While dragging their feet even the smart ones are hard to get a bead on. Dream large.

Vitruvian Orthoceras - This tune was recorded underwater. Who’s to say that Leonardo got it right. The Squid created in the image of the all-knowing. Surfs up!

I Honk Rainy Tank - When does anything make sense? This is a Siren’s song. Could this be Bolero from 2077? Everything comes back to Earth.

The Grumpa Fell Down the Rabbit Hole – Obsessive. Started recording on a Tuesday afternoon and hit the save on Wednesday morning. A bird nest of chords, pedals and scribbled notation are always a good indicator. Dig the pitch drift in the chorus. Wonky. Backward fuzz guitar on the outro gives it a wrap.

Can You Rocket? – I drizzled away four years trying to finish the cover painting. My nephew finally said, “you should finish this.” The audio for this track was recorded in four days. Better focus. I believe aliens are a little bit more lost then we are. The Rocket can.

Small Cap Genius – Favorite track on the album. Jazz in the afterlife. Is your ball cap size a good indicator of intelligence? Shoot… gimme the biggy big. Ottobit Jr saves!!

Kubby and the Zenaquins – What’s the highest note you can sing? Traditional harmony and rhythmic invention… oh please. Almost had a breakdown trying to play this.

Something I Stirred Up with My Foot – Seven key changes and it only took eight minutes to do it. The tag is the destination with stacked harmonies. I could live there forever. Loop this. Earworm?

Favor to a Friend – First track recorded for this album. I’m a sucker for the human drums patch. Chord melody anyone? Smarmy, I know, someone had to do it. Slow down, simplify and be kind. Take your foot off the gas.

No No Fun Fair for You – Vocoder not auto-tune. My blood pressure bumped up a few points. A.I. love? He’s moved onto another program and she’s stuck in an infinite loop. Happens all the time chicken waaang!

Boopin’ on the Cool Deck - Your favorite Jazz Trumpeter having a conversation with a guitarist from Pluto. It’s where you want to be in her company when she’s Boopin’ on the Cool deck.

Return Policy - A tune with a very strong 3/4 pulse. Do we come back again, again, again, again, again and again?

The Man Cave Homage - I feel wonderful! My dream is to have my nephew blast this in his Tiki Lounge.

For Sale By Neighbors - Oh, the temptation to stake a sign. If you have never heard a Data Corrupter, now is your chance.

Sailing on Tulips - Voyage tickets please! Synth 9 on my mind.

Insurmountable Lead - Watch out for the drop! Slow down, simplify and be kind. How far ahead do you need to be?

Bad Bird Bad Bad Bird - Glorious behind the beat chords. It is true that a grapefruit tree and doves can keep you on your toes. Play and repeat.
